Job overview and responsibilities

The Network Monitoring Administrator will be focusing on Network and Voice Monitoring tools, automation, upgrades of network and voice monitoring solutions, alert quality into BigPanda and supporting IT Network Operations.

  • Design, configure, administer and support HP NNMi, HP NA, Prognosis, Thousand Eyes, Tetration, Ansible. This includes ensuring valid alerting is enriched with CMDB data to the event correlation tool for the gNOC.

  • Strong development skills in Python and knowledge of designing APIs

  • Support and alerting configuration of Thousand Eyes, Riverbed and Tetration into the event correlation tool for the day to day operation.

  • Administration of IR Prognosis to support day to day voice operations and gNOC with alerting.

  • Knowledge in AppDynamics (network visibility), CMDB and BigPanda a plus.

  • Experience with networking architecture, networking protocols, routers, wireless, intrusion prevention/detection, firewall architecture, SIEM, encryption, investigations, forensics and incident management response.

  • Advanced understanding of WAN/LAN networking technologies and multi-site environments.

  • Previous history conducting, supporting or acting as a technical resource for other team members.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and trouble-shooting skills.

Required

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years working in Information Technology

  • 2+ years working with Enterprise monitoring and management tools

  • Teamwork- Works well in a collaborative setting, volunteering for and completing assignments, acting as a positive team member by contributing to discussions, developing and maintaining relations.

  • Technical Expertise- A commitment to increasing knowledge and skills in current technical/functional area, keeping up to date on technical developments, staying informed as to industry practices, knowing how to apply relevant technical processes to appropriate business needs.

  • Development Skills- Python development, understanding of automation of network.

  • Communication Skills- The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of employees and management, speaks and writes clearly and understandably at the right level.

  • Integrity and Trust- Involves being widely trusted, being seen as a direct, truthful individual, can present the unvarnished truth in an appropriate and helpful manner, keeps confidences, admits mistakes, and doesn’t misrepresent him/herself for personal gain.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
