Job overview and responsibilities

The Integrated Digital Engagement, Senior Manager will serve as a strategist, ambassador and integrator of digital engagement programs across employee and customer groups, content development and delivery across platforms, and contribution to overarching social media and content strategy to fuel engagement, including, but not limited to editorial plans, and leading implementation, channel design, delivery, and distribution.

The Senior Manager will collaborate and integrate across the team to provide strategic guidance based on the organization’s goals, development and execution support for digital content and engagement initiatives, campaigns, and operations communications efforts and plans. In addition, the position will identify key metrics to understand and assess the effectiveness of social media & digital engagement efforts, and lead collaboration efforts to design a holistic measurement plan.

This position requires a deep understanding of driving engagement across a variety of audiences in social media and digital environments, and experience in a fast-moving, ever changing and dynamic environment. Strong relationship and liaison skills with experience at working cross functionally and interacting with partners at all levels, as well as the ability to evaluate and change priorities routinely and to perform efficiently within a fast paced team environment.

  • Design and deploy integrated engagement strategies in support of consumer and employee initiatives, including content development/creation, and paid/owned/earned distribution across multiple social platforms, United Hub web property, and digital engagement platforms

  • Understand the organization’s goals and simultaneously see where the opportunities are across audience groups to collaborate in pursuit of common goals

  • Lead collaboration on the development and execution of new engagement programs to demonstrate United's shared purpose & values

  • Develop format and channel mix strategy with consideration for diverse audiences

  • Drive integration and innovation among the people/teams who conceive and create the organization’s content

  • Deliver strong coordination and collaboration with all divisions of the organization – including strong cross-team alignment and support and set up with team members

  • Distill and socialize best practices and communication of key trends with all areas of the organization

  • Oversee development of new internal training and education programs to build awareness and knowledge base of employee engagement best practices/tactics, business conduct, and policy

Required

  • BS/BA Degree in Business/Marketing Master’s Degree in Business/Marketing

  • Standout idea generator, problem solver and integrator with excellent communication and organizational skills, including effective at communication with all levels within the organization

  • Passion for social media with a proven track record in social media strategy and management

  • Ability to be influential in change management situations and with program adoption

  • Extensive understanding of digital content production and owned/earned/paid distribution strategies and best practices

  • Experience planning, managing and executing successful social media campaigns

  • Ability to articulate conceptual ideas in pragmatic/business terms for executive consumption

  • Proficient with basic design and publishing tools and systems

  • Experience working with popular social media monitoring tools and social media community management tools

  • Experience with web publishing, HTML, SEO and content management systems

  • Possess the analytical abilities necessary to gather key business and user insights, and apply strategic planning skills to create a long-term vision

  • Project management experience to keep project leads on track and within budget, including ability to direct/advise on large, complex projects

  • Ability to forecast and strategize process and project improvements

  • Superior attention to detail

  • Required experience in managing teams and vendors

  • Must be self-starter with strong problem solving and interpersonal skills

  • Ease in working in fast paced dynamic and deadline driven environment

  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • 7+ years experience an demonstrated success in generating engagement in the digital space, including social media and content marketing

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

  • Must be available outside of business hours (evenings and weekends)

Preferred

  • Master's Degree in Business / Marketing

  • Experience with enterprise social media platforms, such as NetBase, Lithium, etc.

  • Airline or Travel industry experience
