Job overview and responsibilities

The Manager – Applications Development position is responsible and accountable for day-to-day supervision and direction of development related roles within a specific functional area. Directly supervises applications development professionals. Has management accountability for the administration and operational support of specific functional IT development activities supporting departmental or functional strategy. Leads application of structured methods to analysis, design, development, testing, evaluation, and implementation and support specific platforms. Role requires an emphasis in managing relationships with business partners, external vendors, other internal IT development areas and own development team. Works closely with senior managers and SME Leadership team to influence technical and developmental aspects of supported applications.

  • Evaluates development needs, allocate resources and ensure adherence to technical standards

  • Accountable for administrative management of direct report and reporting of progression of work

  • Partner with functional teams to drive and support strategic enterprise vision and design


  • Team leader and project management experience

  • Well rounded experience in multiple technical environments

  • Thought leader, generating outside the box thinking

  • Good handle on accounting principles

  • Working knowledge of SQL and Oracle based systems

  • Multiple programming languages (C#, C++, VB, etc.)

  • Development tools (TFS, Visual Studio, Toad, etc.)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Good organizational and time management skills

  • Technical skills to lead solution development and problem resolution

  • BS/BA preferably in Information Technology or Business or equivalent experience, education or training

  • 3-5 years in technical design, development & support of multiple platformsWorking with business partners to drive optimal solutions

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


  • Financial and profitability experience a plus

  • Experience with DevOps, containerization and cloud tech

  • MS in Information Technology
