Responsibilities:

  • Utilize close in tools to maximize staffing and ensure pilot bases are adequately staffed to run an efficient and reliable operation

  • Support the development and implementation ofshort and long term staffing plans to achieve reliable and cost effective manpower plans for approximately 13,000 pilots

  • Supports development of the line pilot budget (approximately $2.6B for annum 2016) in conjunction with aircraft scheduling, finance and flight ops division leaders

  • Serves in as a lead role to implement business processes and automation improvements within the manpower planning group

  • Support team's overall goal to respond to pilot's inquires within 3 business days via uSAW., pilot.planning@united.com and email

  • Posts and awards staffing bids in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement

  • Support the development of monthly statistics regarding pilot staffing

  • Support the development of training plan (recurrent and transition) that supports the overall flight schedule and minimizes the costs

  • Contribute to the data gathering and analysis of monthly SSC meetings

  • Contribute to the implementation of several Manpower Planning and ALPA IT enhancement projects

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required

  • MBA or Masters in Analytics preferred

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong computer skills required

  • Strong EXCEL skills required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required

  • Strong Analytical and Modeling skills required

  • Ability to work in teams and independently required

  • Detailed oriented required

  • Ability to work well under pressure required

Experience:

  • 2 – 5 years of Analytical experience required

  • Previous airline experience preferred

  • Previous experience with labor collective agreements preferred
