Responsible for leading project teams of typically two to six team members focused on solving key business problems across all functional groups in the company. Will work with frontline as well as departmental leadership to identify root causes, develop short and long term solutions and implement lasting change. Projects range in duration and complexity from quick analyses lasting two to three weeks to large scale transformative efforts that last four to six months. This role would also be responsible with helping guide the deployment and development of resources within Continuous Improvement and Enterprise Optimization (CIEO) as well as support developing a strategic approach both within CIEO and with clients on project work.
Apply advanced Lean principles (Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Standard Work Cellular Flow, Pull Replenishment, Demand and Production smoothing, Mistake Proofing, Total Productive Maintenance) or advanced Six Sigma principles (DMAIC approach, SIPOC, Process Capability, Root Cause Analysis, Normal and Non-Normal data Statistical Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design of Experiments) to process improvement
Contribute to the development and codification of standard Lean Six Sigma methods and training materials; Coach several teams, trained Black Belts and trained Green Belts through Lean Six Sigma DMAIC and exercise considerable judgment in directing the Green belts on the performance of their Lean Six Sigma projects; Deliver just-in-time training of six sigma tools and methodologies to Black Belts, Green Belts, business teams and business leaders.
Participate in classroom training as needed
Work closely with business leadership to develop key performance measurements and reporting; Facilitate Black Belts, Green Belts and business teams through project tollgate as well as governance reviews
Work with functional and cross functional business teams to identify opportunities for improvement, gather data, analyze and develop improvements and innovations, and prepare presentations to communicate project status
Master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business Administration OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or Business Administration and five years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in continuous improvement required
Advanced degree preferred
- Black Belt certification form an LSS training/certification vendor that includes completion of a real-life project, formal in-class training, and exam required

Minimum 2 years of professional work experience using statistical analysis
Completion of multiple cross functional projects involving non-normal data and design of experiments (DOE), using Lean Six Sigma DMAIC to complete
5 years of LSS experience
3+ years of work experience using statistical analysis
Eighteen months of experience in continuous improvement
Demonstrated diverse (multiple business areas) CI portfolio implementation
3+ years of airline business experience
3+ years of diverse CI portfolio implementation
Strong GB and BB certification, i.e. 60% or higher
1+ years GB and BB training experience
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
