The Airport Operations department keeps operations at our airports running smoothly through planning, organization and supervision.

Job overview and responsibilities

This Manager serves as the primary management control oversight of gate planning and schedule integrity working with Network Planning teams while ensuring local station requirements are met supporting our operating metrics and customer commitments. This Manager also conducts performance analysis to identify trending issues and works with stakeholders to create initiatives to address defects and improve performance.

  • Responsible for partnering with local station and Network Planning in developing future flight schedules and creating planned gate assignment strategies for aircraft arriving/departing the HUB

  • Responsible for pre-planning advance flight gating to follow designed flight schedule

  • Responsible for coordinating analysis in support of continuous improvement

  • Primary liaison with Network Operations Control, Dispatchand Operations Managers regarding real time updates to the HUB schedule

  • Responsible for leading a team of Zone Controllers (Supervisors)

  • Responsible for supporting the station safety culture through strategic communication

  • Responsible for strategic and tactical leadership mitigating irregular flight schedule activities

Required

  • Bachelor Degree

  • Skilled in use of Excel, Powerpoint, Microsoft Project, Spotfire and Sharepoint

  • Previous Analytical, Performance Management, Six Sigma or Lean background

  • Previous performance analysis, schedule design and or Station Operations Control experience

  • Proven track record for decisive contribution backed by strategic planning, continuous improvement, analytical thinking, goal-directed leadership and service-orientated performance

  • Knowledge of operations, management and logistics

  • Ability to assume the duties of Manager- Station Operations Control on a temporary basis as requires

  • Able to consistently lead in both controlled and uncontrolled environments while making educated decisions based on the Voice of the Customer and Voice of the Business

  • Must be willing and able to work any shift in a 24/7 operation; work schedules are based on the needs of the operation

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
