Job overview and responsibilities for Supervisor - Ground Service Equipment Maintenance Operations; Denver, CO (DEN)

This position is required to supervise Ground Service Equipment (GSE) operations at United-staffed maintenance operations. Responsible for the local maintenance planning and execution; productivity, accountability and dependability program execution and Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance delivering the optimum level of GSE in support of safe and reliable airline operations. Partners with all local customer bases ensuring positive customer relations and service-level goals achieved. Maintain a positive working together relationship among co-workers and customers.

  • Supervise team performance and execution against all division and corporate maintenance objectives. This includes maintenance customer Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance, maintenance cycle time, all in-service level goals / tolerances, planned and preventative maintenance program compliance

  • Lead efficient and effective team maintenance operations in a positive, productive and safe work environment.

  • Supervise maintenance productivity

  • Coordinate technical training

  • Manage employee dependability issues

  • Support team recognition program and employee accountability programs in accordance with policy

  • Lead safe and environmentally compliant maintenance operations

  • Support all safety / OSHA, environmental and training programs compliance

  • Support safety mitigation programs and leads investigations that support root-cause analysis of accidents, injuries and incidents involving ground service equipment or team personnel

  • Maintain proactive communication and positive relations with maintenance team and customer group stakeholders

  • Manage accurate and effective customer reporting and communication programs while sustaining positive customer service and effectiveness ratings



  • High School Diploma, GED or the educational equivalent of these (from another country)

  • Post-secondary education in a technical or maintenance related field, or equivalent work experience in a technical or maintenance related field

  • A minimum of TWO years experience in a maintenance related role

  • Knowledge of planning and execution of maintenance operations

  • Experience leading a team of maintenance personnel

  • Advanced computer skills

  • Possess related technical knowledge

  • Limited travel may be required

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


  • Associate’s degree in business or related field

  • ASE Certification

  • Knowledge of GSE-related maintenance operations

  • Experience in GSE-related maintenance operations
