Jo b overview and responsibilities
United Airlines’ Customer Technology Platform department partners with business and technology leaders across the company to create high performing services and real time messaging applications across key airline functionalities such as Booking, Check-in, Payment, Reservation systems and Operational Systems to help support the commercial and digital Channels of United.
As a software developer in the Data Enablement team, you will be responsible for the development of mission critical applications, while working with a team of developers. This individual will build high performing, real-time middleware solutions in the extremely critical domains of Baggage, Flight Operations, Reservation Management and Check-in. You will play a large role in building data caches and real time messaging applications, used by operational and commercial systems across the company. Additionally, as a developer, you will build these applications with a focus on delivering cloud based solutions. The individual will use leading edge technologies and enterprise grade integration software on a daily basis.
Key Duties
Participate in full development life cycle including requirements analysis and design
Serve as technical expert on development projects
Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements
Support, maintain, and document software functionality
Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation
Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs as needed
Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements
Consult with end user to prototype, refine, test, and debug programs to meet needs
Recognized as expert in field, knowledgeable of emerging trends and industry practices
Conducts the most complex and vital work critical to the organization
Works without supervision with complete latitude for independent judgment
May mentor less experienced peers and display leadership as needed
This position is offered on local terms and conditions within United’s wholly owned subsidiary United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.
Required
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems and/or equivalent work experience
2+ years of experience in design, development, documenting, testing, and debugging of new and existing software systems and/or applications for market sale or large-scale proprietary software for internal use
2+ years of experience with Software Development Languages & Tools, C#, Asp.NET/MVC, Web API, WCF, MS Visual Studio, MS TFS
Strong knowledge of Microsoft .NET Framework, SQL and Design Patterns
Proficiency in Software Development best practices such as - Continuous Integration, Unit/Integration testing, Code reviews
Thorough knowledge and experience with Microsoft Technology Stack, Windows Server OS (2008, 2012), IIS 7, 7.5, MSMQ, Net Framework 4.0, 4.5
About 4 weeks of travel to US in a year may be needed
Exhibit written and spoken English fluency
Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Preferred
Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems
Have Experience with the Cloud Computing – AWS, Azure, .Net Core, Couchbase Data Platform
Airlines industry experience
Experience with PCI DSS
