As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator, you’ll be responsible for activities and projects related to the design, development, implementation, and support of United's complex, highly-available, 24x7, Oracle databases. You will align with IT Infrastructure, Commercial, Operations verticals to deliver available, stable, and performant database services to achieve customer and business objectives.
Ensure detailed physical design of data structures and database compiles with enterprise standards, guidelines, procedures, and processes
Create physical database structures based on physical design for development, test, and production environments
Coordinate with systems engineers to configure servers for DBMS product installation and database creation
Provide on-call support for change and incident management as needed
Implement monitoring procedures to maximize availability and performance of the database, while meeting defined SLA's
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve database problems
Strong skills in database backup / recovery and security strategies
Strong experience in database performance and availability improvement measures based on metric analysis
Working with the various application teams on supporting and implementing application changes, database enhancements, and database production support, including incident, problem and change management

- BS (Preferably in Information Technology) and/or equivalent experience, education and/or training required
- Oracle Certified Professional 11g or 12c
Oracle Database Administration 11g, 12c
Strong skills in Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard
Experience with troubleshooting PL/SQL and SQL tuning
Experience with supporting mission critical databases
Experience supporting very large databases (10TB+)
MS SQL Server
10+ years applicable experience in the design/administration/ support of Oracle RDBMS (11g and 12 c)
Oracle RAC, ASM, OEM, Data Guard, Unix/Linux
Knowledge of PL/SQL programming and SQL performance tuning
Experience with Microsoft SQL databases
Must be legally authorized to work in India for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
