Job overview and responsibilities

Supports development of revenue management enhancements and process improvements to optimize the $1.1 billion of annual cargo revenues through pricing, capacity, or revenue management actions.

  • Participates in the development of network or region maximizing strategies around pricing, capacity or revenue management to accomplish regional and divisional objectives, including allocation strategies and pricing within approved parameters

  • Help in the development of strategies towards the optimization of cargo metrics such as revenue, pricing, inventory levels, tonnage and yield and collaborate cross departmentally in delivering optimal results through planning and execution

  • Support the development and calibration of the Cargo Revenue Management system, including demand forecast overrides and capacity adjustments, as well as appropriate Revenue Management system interfaces with United Cargo 360 systems and leverage business intelligence and decision support systems to optimize cargo revenue and contribution opportunities

  • Supports communication between the Cargo Sales Leadership organization and Field Sales teams regarding monthly goals and objectives

  • Support relationships with Field Sales and Operations to facilitate communication of any type that may impact, negatively or positively, cargo revenue/contribution

  • Supports ad hoc Pricing, Capacity or Revenue Management projects and tasks as assigned

  • Participate with the HQ Revenue Management and field analyst teams to implement short and medium range objectives to support a $1.1 billion (or higher) revenue generation target and help execute strategies to support the goals and standards for Cargo Revenue Management business processes

  • Collaborates with Pricing and Capacity teams in making decisions related to optimizing cargo revenues and contribution at United, including pricing strategies and tariffs

  • Coordinate in setting goals and business approval processes between HQ and field analysts to ensure speed to market, including facilitating issue resolution with field sales management


  • Bachelors degree

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access

  • 1 year professional business experience; experience in working cross functionally, preferably with sales teams

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Powerpoint, Tableau or Spotfire

  • Airline experience, international business experience, pricing experience transportation experience, commercial and financial decision making
