Job Overview and Responsibilities

The UA AP Central Team located in Houston Texas, manages the invoice processing, payments, vendor management, reconciliations and AP system processes to support business segments located across four regional areas: EMEAI, US, LATAM, APAC.

As a member of the AP central team, the Global Travel and Expense (T&E) and Purchase Card (P-Card) audit process owner:

  • Manage the global processes and performs select process activities

  • Engage with and manages performance of the outsourced service provider

  • Ensure the service provided is responsive to customer needs

  • Drive continuous process improvement, standardization and simplification

  • Represent United Airlines (UA) AP on strategic initiatives

The Manager will play a critical role in planning and developing systems and procedures to improve the operating quality and efficiency of the department.

The position requires excellent focus, high energy and enthusiasm, forward thinking, strong analytical capability, excellent problem solving, the ability to manage change, solid execution and a commitment to help the company meet financial objectives and exceed customer expectations.

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5 to 7 years equivalent work experience

  • 5 – 7 years of AP or Accounting experience

  • Experience with large enterprise-level accounting and reporting systems

  • Current knowledge of multi-entity operations and reporting

  • Proven analytical and creative problem solving skills and abilities with accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to handle multiple and competing tasks simultaneously and work closely with various departments and team members

  • Must love challenging opportunities to assist or co-design solutions to perplexing issues that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting team

  • Must be a motivated, self-starter with a proactive personality who is able to work independently or with a team

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

  • Ability to travel to India periodically

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

Preferred

  • Previous experience managing a service provider
