Overview

Responsible for the accurate and timely filing and payment of corporate income taxes and refund claims for UCHI and subsidiaries. Maintain proper workpapers and support for tax returns to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Prepare tax payment requests and make online and paper check payments timely and accurately. Job requires working closely with various departments to ensure proper corporate tax compliance. Assist on state tax audits, refund claims and various other corporate tax related assignments as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for filing and remittance of multi-state fuel tax

  • Maintain proper tax return supporting documents to meet Sarbanes-Oxley requirements

  • Resolve tax delinquency notices and issues involving filings with jurisdictions

  • Reconcile tax accounts, prepare and record monthly journal entries

  • Complete special tax projects such as audit support, return filing automation, etc.

  • Research state corporate income tax issues and implement and/or change procedures to ensure proper compliance

  • Assist on state corporate income tax audits and related assignments as required.

  • Maintaining a database of taxes paid by month and year

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or higher required

Knowledge/Skills

Required

  • Proficient Excel skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Must be fluent in English (written and spoken)

Preferred

  • Accounting knowledge

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels and groups within the organization

Experience

  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant federal, state, and local corporate income tax return filling experience in all states

  • Account reconciliation required

  • Familiarity with research tools such as Checkpoint

Other

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the India for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
