Overview

The EAP Regional Managers will assist (1.) in addressing productivity issues by identifying /assessing and resolving personal concerns, including health, marital, family, financial, alcohol, drug, legal, emotional, stress or other personal issues that may affect job performance or quality of life issues; 2. provides behavioral health expertise to management, HR business partners, union peer groups through consultation and training. Additionally, the EAP Regional Managers provide specialized assistance in the recognition and treatment of workplace issues, such as workplace violence, critical incidents/emergency response (crashes or suicides), fitness for duty evaluations, Last Chance Agreements, and DOT regulations concerning positive alcohol and drug tests.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts confidential and timely clinical psycho-social identification/assessment interviews for employees and family members, determining legal safety and risk (i.e., alcohol/drug problems, threat of violence, suicidality), involved with the employee that may be affecting job performance or organizational factors; use of constructive confrontation, motivation and short-term problem solving to address such problems; referral to health providers or community agencies; case management; working with managed care vendor and follow up

  • Specialized Case Management: Pilot monitoring program; SAP services; Fitness for Duty evaluations, Mandated or Last Chance Agreements; partnering with management, HR, LR, Union for ongoing monitoring; crisis management/threat assessment, CISD/Emergency response services

  • Organizational Consulting/Internal Marketing/EAP Operations: Consults by Divisional Partnering with supervisors, Management and union representatives via telephone, in person follow up, Station visits, E-mail, corporate/union trainings and/or EAP orientation; Alcohol/Drug Management trainings, Benefit Fairs, and Coaching, Responsible for daily operations for specific EAP region, including but not limited to, client management, statistics/reporting, confidential file maintenance and other duties as assigned

Education

  • Masters in Behavioral Health studies required

  • CEAP/SAP required,

  • Licensure in Clinical, Social Work, Mental Health, Substance Abuse preferred

Knowledge/Skills

  • Comprehensive EAP knowledge required

  • Broad-brush mental health/substance experience required

  • Training/presentation skills required

  • Good verbal and written communication skills required

  • Ability to handle 24/7 on-call crisis intervention responsibility required

  • CISD formal training required

  • Organizational consultation skills required

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years EAP experience post Masters' required

  • 4-5 years’ experience with hands-on substance abuse treatment required

  • Experience working with Behavioral Health Benefit Carve out/case management preferred

  • CISD trained preferred

  • Administrative/management experience including supervision of staff, managed care carve-out MH/SA insurance benefits, planning and development of all aspects of EAP programming required

  • Minimum of 5 years in internal EAP program experience in a transportation setting preferred

Other

  • 30-40% travel

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
