This role is a critical part of United’s Digital Technology leadership team. In this position, you will lead the charge to modernize, extend, enhance and support United’s passenger services platforms. You will lead a team in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of business and technical systems that are at the core of how our airline operates and at the heart of our customer’s journey. It is critical that this role establish and maintain strong business relationships with both senior and operating level business and technology leaders and be the key interface point of contact with the business.
• Lead and develop a high performing team of technologists responsible for providing solutions for the modernization of our Passenger Service Systems.
• Stay abreast of business strategy, goals, objectives and operational performance. Develop technology strategies and solutions to support business priorities.
• Partner with business stakeholders to ensure that quality technology solutions are delivered within scope and budget. This will involve the development of business requirements, scope management, training, business change management and deployment.
• Ensure IT application development process disciplines (solution delivery, project management, work requests, QA, etc.) and standards are established, effectively managed and performed.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business Administration.Master’s degree a plus.
10-15 years of management experience in an IT or leadership related role.
Functional understanding of airline reservations, inventory and departure management business processes and technology
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Direct experience in leading TPF delivery or similar highly complex, high performance computing platforms.
Familiarity with other GDS/CRS/PSS platforms (e.g. Amadeus, Sabre, Travelport).
Experience in designing and leading strategic legacy system modernization initiatives
