Job overview and responsibilities

Test Automation Director will ensure testing is incorporated into the software development life cycle and consistently applied across all application portfolios. Focus is on automation to build on-demand test environments and automated testing capabilities adopting an agile and continuous integration methodology enabling speed to market delivery.

Delivery Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for implementing Automation roadmaps for eQA

  • Accountable for delivering all Automation projects for eQA delivery team

  • Ensure Automation scripts maintenance schedule is established and implemented for delivered automation projects

  • Partner with eQA delivery office to implement best practices

  • Owns test data management function for QA projects

  • Owns test environment provisioning for QA function

  • Provides leadership and guidance for specialized test functions

  • Partner with Quality Assurance delivery team and Release Managers to implement Continuous Integration strategy at eQRM level

  • Responsible for implementing any enterprise wide transformation initiatives

Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Develop automation roadmap for functional and non-functional test requirements

  • Develop Continuous Integration strategy for eQRM

  • Develop test data management approach for all eQA supported portfolios

  • Develop test environment provisioning approach for eQRM

  • Establish productivity improvement targets

  • Build relationship with portfolio MD’s and focus on enhancing Automation coverage for their portfolios

Team and Vendor Management:

  • Partners with eQA Delivery office in delivering agreed Automation projects

  • Leads the Automation team from UA FTE and vendor standpoint

  • Enforce vendors to provide committed productivity improvements

  • Perform periodic evaluation of the team and coach them in achieving automation goals

  • Mentor automation team and continuously support to enhance their skills

Metrics and Reporting:

  • Works closely with leadership team to define KPI’s across Automation function

  • Publish KPIs for efficiency and innovation benefits achieved YOY

Required

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related technology field

  • 10-15 years experience in technology, application development and quality assurance

  • 10+ years in quality assurance field

  • 10+ years in technology

  • Continuous Integration tools

  • Test environment management

  • Functional and Non-Functional Testing

  • Automated Test script management

  • System Development and Testing lifecycle management

  • Testing delivery models

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • Masters degree

  • Airline domain knowledge

  • DevOps experience

  • Application development experience
