Customer Solutions overview
United's ability to provide a seamless experience during all aspects of customer and/or flight disruption is critical to the overall customer experience and the efficiency in which we operate. The Customer Solutions organization is a group of teams who execute customer recovery planning during irregular operations from pre-departure to post travel with a solutions-based approach for customer and flight disruptions.
Job overview and responsibilities
Throughout the course of the program, the intern will focus on data analysis, reporting, and trend analysis of all the teams within the Customer Solutions organization. In addition, valuable training, facility tours, airport experiences and other benefits are what make United Airlines the premier company for an internship.
Responsibilities include the following (but are not limited to):
Analyze information and interpret data from various sources, consider available solutions or alternative methods of proceeding to create data-driven decision process improvement recommendations
Work to Improve data analysis and reporting of the Customer Solutions organization by the creation of interactive data visualizations and dashboards
Prepare original analysis from team data sources and present to multiple levels of senior leadership
Applicant must be a current undergraduate student with an anticipated graduation in 2021 pursuing a degree in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Information Technology, Finance or other business-based / analytical fields
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Data visualization skills such as Spotfire
Strong analytical skills required, experience in SQL or Python preferred
Solid interpersonal skills and ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment
Position is located in Chicago, IL – must be able to relocate for internship duration
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship now and in the future
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
Reliable, punctual attendance is required for this position
