Marketing

The Marketing department works to ensure that the United experience, products and loyalty program are the best in the airline industry, and communicates these unique features to our millions of customers.

Job overview and responsibilities

Support compelling and engaging branded design solutions that elevate the customer experience. At the core, provide support in the areas of integrated marketing designs via email, web/mobile/tablet, microsite, paid media and print collateral and marketing design support for digital banners, print collateral, product packaging and animated design.

DESIGN & PRODUCTION

  • Provide support to Senior Visual Designers

  • Deliver design solutions: page comps, redline spec documentation, final optimized digital assets

  • Produce brand identity elements such as logos, wordmarks, brand patterns

  • Create animated and interactive support assets

COLLABORATE

  • Collaborate with Brand identity, Editorial, Web production, Marketing Communications, Product team, Social Media, User Experience, MileagePlus and other business stakeholders.

OPTIMIZE

  • Document best practices, processes, and innovations to improve development time

  • Personal development with design software, web and usability standards

Required

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 2 years of experience in web creative development/direction/execution in an agency or equivalent environment

  • Demonstrate strong design style

  • Demonstrate creative design solutions for web

  • Excellent photo selection skills

  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously with rapid turnaround times

  • Ability to use visual design techniques to improve usability

  • Positive outlook and can-do attitude

  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively or independently

  • Ability to prioritize projects and to meet critical deadlines

  • Adobe Creative Suite:

  • Photoshop [expert knowledge]

  • Illustrator [intermediate knowledge]

  • InDesign [intermediate knowledge]

  • Animate CC [intermediate knowledge]

  • After Effects [expert knowledge]

  • XD [novice knowledge]

  • Sketch [novice knowledge]

  • Technical knowledge of web production including HTML and CSS

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

Preferred

  • 2 years experience working within brand standards of major business-to-consumer website

  • Experience working on user interface of a functional / transactional web site application

  • Proven track record of working with people on all levels in a company

  • Intuitive understanding and empathy for everyday users: their motivators, their goals, their barriers

  • Ability to turn complex design challenges into innovative elegant solutions, and to put those solutions into tangible form.

  • Ability to explain usability and user experience to other departments-- in their language.

  • Ability to participate in design reviews, and creative workshops
