Job overview and responsibilities
The Senior Manager, Portfolio Delivery Lead is an exciting opportunity to own a large internal client engagement to deliver cutting edge enterprise data & analytics solutions.
Role is responsible for overseeing and managing the portfolio data delivery and processes. This position serves an essential role in balancing the multiple stakeholders, technology partners and our development function to ensure we are maximizing enterprise value of our data assets. This role also requires business intuition, project management experience, data analytics skills, strategic thinking and managing a team to coordinate and build robust analytical ecosystems.
Manage a team that partners with business and technology teams to define and execute data engineering initiatives that create a data store as a single source of truth for all consumer, analytical and reporting tools
Responsible for all aspects of data lake delivery including creating project roadmaps, gathering requirements, data analysis, meta-data management, detailed project plans, functional and user acceptance testing
Establish effective Agile portfolio delivery model to track projects from ideation to completion. Lead the team to set the standards around Agile delivery and provide visibility into portfolio priorities, commitments and capacity
Lead portfolio status meetings and manage frequent status communication to business stakeholders, IT teams and senior leadership
Ensure data assets are accurate and reliable. Be accountable for deliverables by understanding and balancing the competing demands for project scope, time and quality
Be a thought partner, responsible and accountable to your portfolio team's data strategy. This includes roadmap development, scoping/estimation of initiatives, prioritizing initiatives, risk mitigation planning, etc.
Estimating and managing resources needs to achieve project goals on time and within budget
Lead and develop data analyst team members.
Experience managing a team
Strong strategic/critical thinking and problem solving skills
Passionate about data & analytics
Customer focused mindset
Bachelor's degree in quantitative field (i.e. - statistics, computer science/engineering, business analytics, information systems, etc.)
5+ years experience in analytics or engineering role
Experience delivering large, cross-functional projects
Experience with cloud technologies
Experience working with large structured and unstructured datasets used for analytical or reporting purposes
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
Background in Teradata and/or Hadoop stack
