Revenue Management

The Pricing and Revenue Management department helps us run a successful business by predicting consumer demand and setting up pricing structures.

Job overview and responsibilities

For assigned sub-entity, direct the setting of published and unpublished fares through analysis of market conditions and effective interface with UA Sales and, (as applicable) JV partner Pricing/Sales.

Pricing Operations

  • Determine price levels, rules and strategy to maximize revenue and yield in markets including Internet, special events and seasonal opportunities.

  • Manage the entire pricing process for of a team of analysts.

  • Continually evaluate, revise and improve processes for more efficiency and productivity.

Team Management

  • Recruit and manage performance for all team members.

  • Mentor team members in their career and skill development.

  • Communicate on a continual basis to senior management the pricing actions of other carriers and determine the appropriate strategic responses.

  • Recommend and implement ideas to increase efficiency, remain competitive and capitalize on revenue opportunities.

  • Maintain and conduct new hire and recurring training program for analyst team.

Analysis and Coordination

  • Evaluate the financial impact of pricing decisions and analyze the effect on bookings, market share, yield and profit margin.

  • Coordinate with Revenue Management and Scheduling to review markets and implement a unified strategy for maximum revenue performance.

  • Respond to ad-hoc request s and questions from other departments such as reservations, sales and marketing

  • Liaison with vendors of pricing systems for maximization of productivity. Manage the testing and implementation of new releases of the program.

  • Represent UA atindustry conventions and working groups.

  • Coordinate with Revenue Analysisin the evaluation of large-scale pricing actions

  • Monitor system level booking trends and recommend pricing actions to stimulate bookings as necessary.

  • Analyze opportunities for specialty pricing and work with vendors and internal departments to file targeted specialty pricing initiatives.

  • Perform analysis on all specialty pricing initiatives

  • Primary responsibility for various aspects of Joint Venture relationship, where regionally appropriate.This includes overseeing OA pricing analysts, communicating with OA Sales & Steering, creating analysis for JV meetings, and participating in JV calls & meetings.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years of experience in inventory management or pricing

  • Working knowledge of a pricing system

  • Knowledge of database products which allow for analysis

  • Previous managerial experience

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Analytical ability to create models and generate spreadsheets to provide support recommendations

  • Ability to create PowerPoint presentations and present to various audiences

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
